Spring keeps making tiny appearances, followed by another winter storm here in NE Iowa. Before you know it we'll be busy with fieldwork and cheese curd production, so full steam ahead with all of the winter projects we had planned for 2023. If you follow us on our social media pages, you may have seen a post about our updated walls in the milking parlor. They needed to be replaced after years of cows bumping into them. Not only did they not look good, but they were getting difficult to clean, which made them really not look good. Now the walls are new, shiny and clean! One more update we hope to have done before planting starts is a viewing window into our parlor! This will give all our farm tour visitors a chance to peek into the milking parlor and check it out. At the creamery we'll be making some improvements to our viewing hallway and self-guided tour. We want to make sure that when you come to visit us, you have the chance to see what we do even if we are not there. All our signage and pictures will be getting updated, along with the addition of video so you can see more of what we do every day. Currently, if you do the self-guided tour we aren't able to show you our ice cream, butter or cottage cheese rooms. So we'll be adding video and pictures of those areas. Over the past few years we have acquired some antique dairy equipment that we want to showcase and share with you. All we need to do is find a good place to put it. We never thought we would run out of room in this old factory building! We're just getting started on this project and can't wait to show you it when it's finished. Of course, the best way to see it will be in person, so make plans to come see us this summer! Will you be visiting?
